Casey Anthony files for actual bankruptcy, not the moral kind
1/28/2013After getting off the hook for two of her convictions for lying to investigators, Casey Anthony now apparently wants to wriggle out of her debts, too. Anthony, who was acquitted in 2011 in the death of her daughter, Caylee, filed for bankruptcy to shed the $800,000 in liabilities she owes to creditors. The biggest chunk of that is $500,000 due to Jose Baez, the lead defense lawyer when she faced murder charges in Caylee's death. Anthony is also in hock to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department for $145,660 (presumably for wasting their time while reportedly lying about the whereabouts of her missing daughter) and the IRS for $68,540.
