Gamblers happy to win $1.5M with unshuffled cards (casino not so much)
8/22/2012We've heard of stacked decks, but this is ridiculous. Fourteen mini-baccarat gamblers at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City were more alert than casino personnel at noticing that the same card sequences kept turning up and soon won 41 consecutive hands — and $1.5 million. Now the casino is suing both a card manufacturer for supplying unshuffled decks and the gamblers, claiming it was defrauded even though the players weren’t detected "swindling and cheating." The Golden Nugget still hasn't paid out nearly $1 million of the winnings. So to recap: Casino slow on the uptake hasn’t paid up in full and sues to reclaim what it has paid off. That's what we call house odds. [Source]
