Teen refused communion over pro-gay marriage Facebook post
11/17/2012A Catholic teen in Minnesota was denied communion after posting his support for gay marriage on Facebook. Lennon Cihak, 17, was due to be confirmed in the Catholic faith at the Assumption Church of Barnesville, Minn,, when the teen posted a picture of himself with a sign opposing a ban on same-sex marriage in Minnesota. The Rev. Gary LaMoine discovered the photo, and ruled that Cihak’s views meant he could not be confirmed. The priest is also denying communion to the rest of Cihak family. Cihak said that friends within his confirmation class "liked" the photo on Facebook, but were still granted full communion in the church. [Source]
