See 19 cats do their best to re-create these famous paintings

12/5/2012

Somebody out there is making the most of an art school degree, collecting pictures of cats vaguely posed in ways to suggest famous paintings some with better results than others. Thus, a cat lapping in water in a pond becomes "Echo and Narcissus" by John William Waterhouse, and a marmalade cat (bizarrely) soaking calmly in a tub of soapy water is transformed into "The Bath" by Alfred George Stevens. Perhaps best of all is a cat-centric take on Guido Reni's "Repentance of St. Peter" except for the gray fur, the cat clasping his hands in prayer (or bug-smashing) is a total match.
