See 19 cats do their best to re-create these famous paintings
12/5/2012Somebody out there is making the most of an art school degree, collecting pictures of cats vaguely posed in ways to suggest famous paintings — some with better results than others. Thus, a cat lapping in water in a pond becomes "Echo and Narcissus" by John William Waterhouse, and a marmalade cat (bizarrely) soaking calmly in a tub of soapy water is transformed into "The Bath" by Alfred George Stevens. Perhaps best of all is a cat-centric take on Guido Reni's "Repentance of St. Peter" — except for the gray fur, the cat clasping his hands in prayer (or bug-smashing) is a total match.
