Let’s hope Naomi Campbell doesn’t find out about this; she’d annihilate the competition. This weekend in Finland an international bevy of contestants gathered for the mobile phone world throwing championships. It’s a sport many of us have undertaken at an amateur level, when our signal vanishes for the millionth time or the phone suddenly decides to stop working. These championships offer three categories: traditional-over-the-shoulder style throw, freestyle, and a junior category for kids, fueled with rage from teaching their parents how to use new-fangled technology. Finland’s Ere Karjalainen set a record, tossing a phone 332 feet, crediting drinking the day before as the secret to his success. [Source]
