Charity comes under fire for gifting cigarettes to the homeless

A charity in Sweden has ignited debate by handing out cigarettes to homeless guests at their annual Christmas party. The "Care Christmas – The Homeless" charity has held a holiday party in eastern Sweden for nearly 20 years and said giving a pack of cigarettes to their guests, along with chocolate and warm clothes, is a "tradition." A Swedish health organization believes the tobacco gifts send the wrong signal, but Lennart Cederberg, who heads the charity, said the recipients "smoke all the time anyway."
