Charles Darwin was the natural selection for 4,000 Georgia voters
11/9/2012That sound Paul Broun just heard was Charles Darwin sneaking up on him. Despite being dead for 130 years, the English naturalist received 4,000 write-in votes in Georgia, making him the biggest challenger to Broun, the representative for the 10th Congressional District for the past five years. "I can’t ever remember seeing a [write-in ballot] report that long,” elections supervisor Gail Schrader said. Darwin’s campaign started as soon as Broun called evolution and other scientific ideas "lies straight from the pit of hell." Other voters expressed their displeasure for the unopposed Broun by writing in "Anyone but Broun," "Anyone else" and bow-tied evolution supporter Bill Nye the Science Guy. You'll get him in 2016, Charles! [Source]
