Police arrest diamond thief who posted vacation shots on Facebook
1/15/2013When Charles Rodriguez, 31, posted photos of his vacations in Rio de Janiero and London on Facebook, we wonder if the U.K. police were tempted to hit "like" on just one of them. They had been monitoring the Columbian man's movements ever since he fled the U.K. in 2011 after robbing a diamond trader of more than $128,000 worth of diamonds and pearls. Police identified Rodriguez from security footage and kept tabs on his international adventures, including the name on the false passport that he used to enter Brazil, until they arrested him after a traffic stop in London. Rodriguez has been sentenced to five years in prison. [Source]
