Cops call zoo after pup with fancy haircut convinces folks he's a lion

1/9/2013

Do not even try to have a costume contest with this clever pooch. Charles the Monarch, a cheery labradoodle in Norfolk, Va., is such a master of disguise that this morning he accidentally tricked neighbors into thinking he was a lion. The pup, whose owners keep him shaved with a lion-like mane in honor of Old Dominion University's mascot, was out taking a stroll when someone called 911 to report a lion on the loose. The caller thought the mysteriously urban-dwelling cub was "possibly looking for food," and police called the zoo to confirm both real lions were in their cages. Those are, of course, adult lions weighing about 350 pounds each, but we're glad they covered their bases. [Source]
