Golfer leads tournament despite a bad lie in a hospital bed

11/10/2012

There's a little pressure on Charlie Beljan at the year's final PGA tournament. The rookie likely needs a top 10 finish to reclaim his playing card. Oh, and there's the little matter of the shortness of breath, arm numbness and skyrocketing blood pressure that got him loaded on a stretcher and whisked away to the hospital after the second round. Which would have made it a disaster of a day, except that he shot 64 and leads the tournament by three strokes. Now he's teed off for the third round against doctor's advice. "I’m still not feeling that great, but shoot, the position I’m in, it’s kind of hard not to show up," Beljan said. [Source]
