This sweet little dog has the loudest bark in the world

3/15/2013

Before you register a noise complaint about your neighbor's yappy pooch, thank the pet gods that you don't live next door to Charlie. This 6-year-old golden retriever from Adelaide, Australia, is the proud holder of the Guinness World Record for the loudest bark. He obliterated the competition with a 113.1-decibel woof that's louder than a car horn and only a few decibels short of a jet taking off. Owner Belinda Freebairn says he's actually a peaceful pup: "He doesn't bark at home at all really, he's really quiet." Charlie's monster voice box revealed itself when he was around a year old. "He just started to get that real deep bark and I knew he was really loud," Freebairn says. [Source]
