RT @hankypanty: We'll never get chemical castration for rapists, unless we first mentally castrate this hideous misogyny in India's politicians.

Rapists could be chemically castrated under new bill proposed in India

12/30/2012

Tweeps are in a heated argument over a proposal by India's ruling party that would force chemical castration on some rapists. Many people support drastic punishments for violent sex offenders, as outlined in a draft of the Congress party's bill, which was made after a woman violently gang-raped on a New Delhi bus died from her injuries. Many others, however, expressed concerns about medical and psychological implications. Twitter user @MaliniP said, "… the incapacitated offender might turn into a different kind of psychopath targeting women, if let loose." But for the most part, the idea is popular. "Finally government is doing something about it," said @AmranNagal. [Source]
