This amazing woman climbed Mount Everest twice in just 8 days
2/25/2013She might not be a dashing male explorer with dramatic facial hair, but Chhurim, a 29-year-old female Sherpa from Nepal, is nevertheless getting the recognition she richly deserves for a remarkable feat of bravery and endurance. She's just been honored by Guinness World Records for being the first woman to climb Mount Everest twice in one season, having summited the 29,035-foot peak on May 12, 2012, and again just one week later, on May 19. Chhurim, who like most Nepalese Sherpas uses only one name, has shed light on why her accomplishments are particularly impressive.
