Authorities say Mindless Behavior not the cause of teenage mall riot
2/25/2013Fifty squad cars and a police chopper descended on the Ford City Mall in southwest Chicago to control a group of rioting teenagers Saturday afternoon. Between 100 and 200 teens were involved in the disturbance, which shut down the mall and forced buses to re-route. Nineteen teens were arrested and two people were hospitalized in the chaos, as the mob was herded out into the parking lot where they began vandalizing vehicles. The incident occurred around 45 minutes after an appearance by boy band Mindless Behavior. However, despite the appropriate name, authorities say the fracas was not triggered by the group's presence.
