A Chicago-area woman has filed a lawsuit, on behalf of her son, seeking more than $100,000 in damages. The suit alleges that a teacher duct-taped an index card over the 11-year-old boy’s mouth to keep him from talking after she'd warned him to be quiet in class. According to the six-page filing, the teacher only removed the impromptu gag after 45 minutes, when she realized the child was crying, which is ... just really dark, man. This sort of thing seems to be happening a lot. We understand that teachers are overworked, and that 11-year-old boys can be irritating, but that does not give anyone license to duct-tape their mouths shut. Just bottle it up like the rest of us. Jeez. [Source]
