Chick-Fil-A competitor to donate part of profits to marriage equality
8/1/2012New York City is, for sure, no Chick-fil-A town, even if Mayor Michael Bloomberg came out in defense of the chain's right to be as bigoted as it likes. (A ban similar to those floated by other mayors would be "inappropriate," he said.) In fact, there's just one outlet in Manhattan, on the New York University campus. Still, none of that has prevented a cross-town rival from making a statement against the Chick, which has come under fire for its president's anti-gay views: Chicken-mini-chain Schnipper's will donate $1 from every purchase of its Chicken Filet Sandwich to a pro-marriage equality group. Consider this equal parts political statement and savvy marketing ploy. [Source]
