Watch as the U.S. record for mattress dominoes is toppled
7/17/2012'La Quinta' may as well be Spanish for 'Second Place.' Just months after a group of 850 La Quinta Inns employees broke the record for the longest mattress domino chain, they've been defeated by a Chinese team who toppled 1,001 sleep slabs. The new record was set in a Shanghai shopping mall, where it took more than ten minutes for all of the mattresses to (quietly) fall. "For an event like this involving 1,000 people to succeed first time is not just about luck," Cheng Dong of the Guinness Book of World Records said. Although we're bummed that the U.S. is out of Guinness' top spot, we wonder if we could get a discount on a mattress that's been domino'ed? [Source]
