Chinese airport's cheerleaders perk up delayed passengers
5/1/2012Airport delays are tedious affairs -- unless you're stuck at northeastern China's Dalian International Airport, which has hired a coterie of college cheerleaders to wow delayed travelers with kicks, jumps and splits as part of its effort to "demonstrate spirit and shoulder social responsibility." Last week, the squad "soothed emotion and alleviated fatigue" for more than 5,000 folks who were dealing with fog-related delays, the airport says. Nearly one in four flights were postponed in China last year so it's a nice gesture by Dalian, though it must be a bummer when these gals are yelling "Go, go, go!" and travelers can't actually go anywhere.
What do you wish airports had to pass the time between flights?
