Chinese dog treats linked to hundreds of deaths in U.S.
5/24/2012Is there something wrong with your pooch? You might want to check what you're feeding it. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says it's logged more than 900 complaints from dog owners who believe their canine companions fell sick or, even worse, died from eating Chinese-made pet treats. The FDA is yet to confirm the source of the dogs' malaise, but owners have "largely blamed" the brands Waggin' Train and Canyon Creek Ranch. "There literally could be tens of thousands of people whose dogs were affected," said Terry Safranek, who claims her fox terrier Sampson died of kidney failure in January after eating Chinese-made chicken jerky.
