Chinese teen sells kidney to purchase iPhone, iPad

​In an extreme case of gotta-have-it, a Chinese teen sold his kidney to get money to buy an iPhone and an iPad, Reuters reports. A group of five people who arranged the organ transfer, including a surgeon, have been charged with "illegal organ trading" and "intentional injury." They received roughly $31,500 for the kidney, while the teen got $3,500. The teen apparently admitted to his mom that he had sold the organ when she asked how he had gotten his shiny new Apple paraphernalia. He is now suffering from renal deficiency, and, sadly, his condition is reportedly deteriorating.
