Items bought with stolen card number arrive at victims' home
1/9/2013Chris and Susie Linford were recently victims of identity theft. Last month, someone stole the Alaska couple’s debit card number, and in about an hour, had racked up $5,000 in charges. Fortunately, the couple’s credit union canceled the card and restored their balance. Then an odd thing began happening — the purchases made by the thief began turning up at their home. A car stereo and radar detector. A signed baseball bat. A picture of Dale Earnhardt Jr. A membership to a fruit-of-the-month club. Jackets and coats. Looks like the derptastic thief was doing his Christmas shopping — and forgot to (or couldn’t) change the shipping address for the items. [Source]
