NJ Gov. Chris Christie wields his mighty scepter, postpones Halloween

10/31/2012

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has made good on his threat that he'd postpone Halloween if the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy made trick-or-treating too dangerous. In a signed executive order, Christie postponed Halloween festivities in New Jersey until Monday, Nov. 5. "I've taken this action to minimize additional risk to lives and the public safety as we begin the process of rebuilding and recovering," the governor said in a statement. We know it's a disappointment, kids, but the Halloween spirit lives on no matter what day it's actually celebrated. [Source]
