Chris Christie says most of NJ to have power restored by tonight

11/10/2012

According to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, you can finally breathe a sigh of relief: Most Jerseyites should have their power restored by tonight. According to Public Service Electric & Gas, the Garden State's biggest utility company, about 127,000 customers are still without power from the hurricane. That sounds like a lot, but it's way fewer than the original 1.7 million powerless residents. PSEG also says that another 8,300 folks who lost electricity during Wednesday’s nor’easter are also still living in the dark. In addition to sharing the positive power news (it’s about time!), Christie said that early next week he'll decide about ending or continuing the odd-even gas ration plan he had previously ordered in 12 counties.
