Vikings punter quits blogging for paper after gay marriage editorial
11/4/2012Perhaps the NFL's most socially and politically engaged player, Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, has stepped up and booted the St. Paul Pioneer-Press out of his life. He's pulled his popular blog from the newspaper's site in reaction to a wishy-washy editorial that not-so-subtly attacked arguments against Minnesota’s proposed amendment to ban gay marriage, even though it didn’t actually encourage readers to vote for it. "I will not be associated with any organization that tries to pull some bulls**t like that," Kluwe tweeted. "Have the strength of your convictions." What's the paper going to do to replace a blogger that does six-figure traffic? Punt. [Source]
