Deadliest sniper in U.S. military history killed at gun range
2/3/2013The man considered to be the U.S. military’s most prolific sniper was killed, along with another man, on the gun range of a Texas resort. Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL and the author of the 2012 memoir “American Sniper,” was fatally shot at the Rough Creek Lodge Saturday afternoon. Police arrested a suspect, Eddie Ray Routh, in connection with the killings. Kyle became a legend for his service in Iraq, where the Pentagon credited him with 150 confirmed kills, including one from an astonishing 1.2 miles away. So feared was Kyle by insurgents, that he was reportedly nicknamed the “Devil of Ramadi.” [Source]
