Sandy apologist Chris Matthews: 'I’m so glad we had that storm'

Shouty news host Chris Matthews wrapped up his thoughts on the election by kicking up a storm of controversy. During MSNBC's election coverage, Matthews launched into a sappy soliloquy about how proud he is of the country for reelecting Obama and all the obstacles the president has overcome with "coolness and charm." So far, so expected. But then the winds of crazy must've whipped through the studio, because Matthews finished by heaping praise on deadly, destructive Hurricane Sandy: "I'm so glad we had that storm last week because I think the storm was one of those things.
