Chrissy Amphlett, known best for the immortal camp-classic "I Touch Myself" with her group Divinyls, has died after a long battle with cancer at the age of 53. Amphlett publicized her diagnosis with breast cancer in 2010, and she also dealt with multiple sclerosis, which complicated her cancer. Divinyls had four top-10 albums in Australia and was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame in 2006. It was "I Touch Myself," though, that was the band's lasting contribution to pop culture — the paean to self-love has graced many a film and TV show. Take a few minutes out of your day to let it bring a smile to your face. [Newser]
