A mentally disturbed man in Minnesota who shot and killed his mother in 1995 obtained a gun permit and bought 13 firearms — despite being legally barred from doing so. Christian Oberender was caught when a sharp-eyed sheriff’s deputy thought to scan the felon’s Facebook page, finding pictures of the guns and mentions of the Newtown shootings. A search of his home uncovered a letter he had written to his deceased mother confessing, "I think about killing all the time." [Source]
