Christians may be on verge of extinction in Middle East, study says

12/26/2012

As many Christians in the U.S. sit down to a warm Christmas meal, a study is claiming their counterparts in the Middle East may be on the verge of going extinct. The controversial report, conducted by right-leaning think tank Civitas, says between one-half and two-thirds of Christians in the Middle East have left the region or been killed in the past century. "There is now a serious risk that Christianity will disappear from its biblical heartlands," it says. The study adds that Christians face greater hostility worldwide than any other religious group, noting the biggest threat to be "militant Islam." [Source]
