Carey says he first started taking pictures of himself at various locales -- always in the pink tutu -- as a kind of coping mechanism to deal with a move to the East Coast (is it that bad?). But when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer six months later, The Tutu Project was transformed into a fundraising venture benefiting the likes of Cancercare.org.
