Grandma, 53, gives birth to her own grandchild

9/7/2012

This is going to make family get-togethers confusing. Cindy Reutzel, 53, gave birth last week to a girl named Elle Cynthia Jordan. The mom's age is pretty amazing — as is the fact that the baby was an implanted embryo made from her daughter Emily Jordan's egg and her son-in-law's sperm. Jordan is unable to have children after undergoing radical hysterectomy surgery when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer two years ago. So Cindy kindly gave birth on behalf of her daughter in what can only be called the most generous gesture ever. But does this mean that Emily's new daughter is actually her sister? And should Grandma actually be called Mom? [Source]
