Skateboard pro whizzes down California's closed I-405
10/1/2012Remember the days before prefab skate parks, when skateboarders became public enemy number one by zipping around wherever their freedom-seeking hearts desired? Well, former skate pro Cindy Whitehead revisited those freewheeling days yesterday, tweeting this photo of herself (snapped by her photographer husband) coasting down the off-limits I-405 freeway in California with the message, "F**ck carmegeddon. I thought I'd do a little skateboarding down the 405 fwy here in LA today." There was lots of planning for the 6:20 a.m., two-minute joy ride, including scribbling contact details for a lawyer and a bail bondsman on her arm just in case she got snagged breaking, well, all the rules.
