City lures college grads by helping them pay down debt
6/13/2012Looking for a way to pay down some of that crippling student loan debt? Move to Niagara Falls, N.Y. City officials there are attempting to attract young professional by offering to help pay off their college loans. The city is putting up an initial $200,000 to fund the program and is offering students who have received a degree within the last two years up to $3,500 that they can use to pay off their debt. Community Development Director Seth Piccirillo says the city has "lost a lot of talent, a lot of brain power" as it has aged over the last 50 years.
