City turns $70,000 bag of cash to homeless man who found it
6/13/2012Cleanliness may be next to not just godliness but financial solvency for 46-year-old Timothy Yost, a homeless man who found $77,000 in cash and gold coins when he paused on the banks of the Colorado River in Texas to wash his feet. Yost initially tried to exchange the river-soaked bills for dry money at a bank, which prompted the teller to call the police. Yost was given a claim receipt for the cash, and now 90 days later with no other claimants stepping forward, the 70 $100 dollars bills and 40 South African gold coins are legally Yost's property. Now if you don't mind, we're going to grab our soap-on-a-rope and head down to the Colorado River.
What should he do with the money?
