Justice Thomas breaks 7-year silence, but we don't know what he said

1/14/2013

Justice Clarence Thomas doesn’t like to do a whole lot of talking during oral arguments being held at the Supreme Court. In fact, Thomas hasn't said anything in nearly seven years, but today he surprisingly broke his silence by saying actual words other humans could hear. So was it a profound legal opinion he professed? No, it was a joke about Yale, Thomas' alma mater. Laughter in the court made it hard to be sure, but he apparently said a Yale law degree could indicate a laywer wasn't qualified to serve. Uh, burn? At least now we know the guy's awake. [Source]
