Go ahead, make my meme: The Internet responds to Eastwood

8/31/2012

Clint Eastwood's bizarre empty-chair-confronting, "Dirty Harry"-quoting appearance at the Republican National Convention has been the talk of … everything since he walked off that stage. Roger Ebert called it "sad and pathetic." Rachel Maddow said it was "the weirdest thing I've ever seen at a political convention." And The Internet called it an excuse to break out the Impact font and start a meme. Eastwood has been mashed up with McKayla Maroney's unimpressed face, spawned an inevitable #eastwooding hashtag (which involves people photographing themselves arguing with a chair) and led to the creation of the @invisibleobama Twitter account. But, seriously, can anything top the president's own snarktastic "This seat is taken" response? [Source]
