12/5/2012In sales, they call it bait-and-switch, but in professional wrestling it's ... OK, it's the same thing. Sunday's pay-per-view "TLC" event (that's "Tables, Ladders and Chairs," by the way) was set to pit WWE champion CM Punk against rival Ryback. But with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson set to face Punk on an even bigger January PPV card, WWE could hardly have him lose in advance (and while rasslin' might be fake, it can't stand foregone conclusions). So, voila! Ryback throws Punk through a table on the weekly show, "emergency" surgery is required and "TLC" gets a new main event. [Source]
