CNN plays questionable Billy Joel song after Sikh segment
8/6/2012See all those #facepalm hashtags on Twitter today? They’re probably referring to CNN's second major music snafu in just over a week (punctuated only by NBC's horrifically timed "Animal Practice" commercial during the Olympics). On July 29, the station introduced a Sarah Palin segment with a sound clip of Pink’s "Stupid Girls." Then this morning's "Starting Point" kicked off with a lengthy discussion about yesterday's devastating Sikh temple shootings before cutting to commercial and returning to the air with Billy Joel’s "Only the Good Die Young." Yes, that happened, as did the commentators’ overly perky praise for Joel's 1977 album "The Stranger." We guess it could have been worse; they could have played "I Go to Extremes." [Source]
