If you thought New York City studio apartments were small, check out the new micro-trend in Toyko apartments: coffin-sized "rooms" that are really more like human lockers, some without windows. Residents share a communal bathroom. The super-small spaces, just a few feet across, rent for about $480 to $585 a month, which includes heat and electricity. Perhaps the rent should also include emergency treatment for panic attacks.
