Colbert takes Sendak's advice, pens kids' book
2/21/2012We already know Stephen Colbert's a family man, as evidenced by a grateful tweet to fans about his sick mom, and he's about to become a children's author to boot. Colbert will be publishing "I am a Pole (And So Can You!)" on May 8. It's a tale about a flag pole's "search for identity," according to the Hollywood Reporter. When Colbert queried children's author Maurice Sendak on his show in January on what it would take for a celebrity to successfully publish a kid's book, Sendak replied, "You've started already by being an idiot."
