Next time you grab a mug to make yourself some sweet, delicious hot chocolate, take an extra second to choose an orange or cream-colored one. Researchers from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Oxford prepared hot chocolate in from four differently colored cups — red, white, orange and cream — and fed it to 57 lucky subjects, who reported a better taste from the latter two colors. The sweetness and aroma of the chocolate wasn't affected by the cups' color, so the results confirm that what we see plays a big role in our perception of taste. [Source]
