Fort Hood, Virginia Tech, and Columbine all had two things in common. One of them was armed guards.
Since the armed guard at Columbine High School couldn’t stop that massacre, we should probably start thinking about drones.
@phillygirl1985 are you that obtuse that you believe engaging the shooters at Columbine so kids could escape didn't help?
'Columbine had armed guards,' gun control advocates remind NRA
12/21/2012The Web is buzzing with a powerful rebuttal to the NRA’s call for armed guards in schools. The Violence Policy Center immediately responded to the NRA statement with a history lesson: There were armed guards at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. However, they were outgunned by two teenagers with semi-automatic weapons. Guards twice engaged and fired at shooter Eric Harris in an effort to stop the massacre, but were still powerless to prevent the deaths of 12 students and a teacher, as well as injuries to 21 others. It immediately became a hot topic on Twitter, as the newest point being discussed in the larger gun control debate. [Source]
