Fourth grader may have stopped bloody attack at elementary school

2/10/2013

A fourth-grader is being praised today for potentially saving lives at the Colville, Wash., elementary school where two 10- and 11-year-old boys allegedly plotted to kill an "ex-girlfriend," and hurt 7 other young classmates. Fellow student Justin Sanders reportedly saw a long, green knife spill out of a backpack Thursday when one of the unidentified boys tripped getting off the bus. He got scared and told a teacher, who searched the bag, revealing a gun and ammo, too. Investigators says the now-expelled boys, both facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, confessed to the plot. They had begun planning at least two weeks ago and had offered to pay a friend $80 to keep quiet about it. People have lauded Justin, pointing to the virtues of being a tattle-tale. [Source]
