8/8/2012Jeffrey Ross bills himself as the "Roastmaster General," but it's time to cancel delivery on some of his material. Taping Comedy Central's roast of Roseanne Barr, Ross not only showed up dressed as Joe Paterno and cracked Jerry Sandusky jokes — he also followed in the footsteps of Dane Cook and used last month's Aurora, Colo., shootings as his punch line. The network is cutting the latter when the special airs this Sunday, but Ross called celebrity roasting one of the "last bastions of free speech" and defended his gags as appropriate. "I go in guns-a-blazing," he said. "You don't bring a knife to a gunfight." Next time, Jeff, just bring the funny. [Source]
