Company accidentally fires 1,300 employees
4/21/2012Insurance giant Aviva fired 1,300 employees Friday afternoon over email, but it was just a giant mistake. The downsizing British company sent a department-wide missive telling employees to clean out their desks and hand over company property as they left the building. The email was actually intended for a single person, but was instead sent to the entire investors group. A spokesperson said that most people immediately realized that the email was sent in error. We feel bad for anyone that got it, but worse for the person who was actually axed.
