President Obama has approved a one-half to one percent salary increase for the members of Congress, which is their first pay rise since 2009. That's despite the fact that the 112th Congress is the most unproductive group since the 1940s, passing a paltry 219 bills into law. Vice president Joe Biden will also see a bigger check next year and will earn $231,900 before taxes. That works out to about $11,000 per gaffe. [Source]
