Shashank Tripathi, who had been campaign manager for Christopher Wight, a Republican running for Congress in New York City, wrote several deliberately false tweets about Hurricane Sandy on Monday night, including the rumor that the floor of the New York Stock Exchange had been flooded. The 29-year-old also posted "news" about power cuts and subway closures. After being outed, he offered his resignation from Wight's campaign and apologized for his "irresponsible" tweet. [Source]
