However, the sentiment hasn’t stopped the East Coast Fine Arms Show from going forward with its event in Stamford, Conn., just 40 miles Newtown. Despite complaints from Stamford's mayor calling the event "insensitive" and recent citizen anger over a newspaper ad for it that ran alongside a Sandy Hook story, the show is pressing on. The city's police chief says it can't forcibly be canceled, noting it is for antique weapons collectors and not your typical gun show. Reactions on Twitter seem to be mixed. [Source]
