The Huffington Post reports the rumor began on CanadaFreePress.com and gained steam yesterday when Tennessee state legislator Kelly Keisling (R-Byrdstown) emailed his constituents, theorizing that Obama and the Department of Homeland Security are looking for a pretense to impose martial law. After public outcry, Keisling issued an apology today saying he forwarded mail that "should not have been sent out."
