Seattle sets snowball fight record, despite its lack of, y'know, snow
1/14/2013Seattle-based startup Contour took advantage of the chilly winter conditions in its hometown over the weekend to stage an unlikely record-breaking event (and generate some profile-raising PR, of course). The company makes cameras intended to film and share action shots, and what better way to showcase its products than the world’s largest snowball fight? Since Rain City isn’t exactly known as a winter wonderland, 30 truckloads of snow were brought in from the nearby Cascade Mountains, and a Guinness-certified 5,834 took part in the minute-and-a-half fight, breaking the old record of 5,400 people set in 2010 in South Korea.
